Bridgerton Watch Party for One
Dearest Gentle Reader…
Who else read that in Lady Whistledown’s voice?! Hearing those three words gets me so excited! I can’t wait to dive into Benedict’s story and see what the rest of the Bridgerton family has been up to. However, while I await this favored day, I thought that I’d plan a fun Afternoon tea so I can watch the show in full Bridgerton fashion!
Every Sunday, I curate a Disney movie night and dinner for my family (more on that in a later blog)! So why not have a special night for the premiere of one of my favorite series? I’ve planned everything from the music to listen to while setting up, to a simple place setting fit for any member of the Ton. Continue reading to see how to plan an easy yet elegant Bridgerton watch party for one.
Let’s start with the most important part of any tea, why the tea, of course!
Since Bridgerton is set in London, I thought it would be very on brand to drink Earl Grey tea. Admittedly, I am not a huge fan, but I may have a way to make it a bit better than I’ve had in the past. Of course, you can use any tea that you’d like, but if you decide to go with Earl Grey, try adding a bit of flavored coffee creamer along with a sugar cube or two. ( I like sugar with my tea. IYKYK).
Next, my favorite part of any watch party-the food.
I want to really feel as though I am in one of those gorgeous homes on Governor’s Square, in the Drawing Room, enjoying a traditional Afternoon Tea. To do so, I’ve made sure to have a savory finger sandwich along with scones, cakes, and pastries. To my surprise, the scones, cakes, and pastries part was the easiest due to my coming across the Betty Crocker x Bridgerton colab. I, of course, had to purchase all three mixes: Petite Sponge Cake, Crème Puff, and Petite Strawberry Scone kits. Simply follow the directions on the back of the box, and you’ll have an array of delicious sweets that looks like you spent hours in the kitchen.

*Side note, I did not cut the scones in half since I made them a bit thinner than the recipe suggested.
Next, the savory finger sandwiches. Lox or cucumber sandwiches are traditional; however, I am not a big fan of either. Instead, I decided to switch it up a bit by doing a warm smoked salmon and green onion finger sandwich. It’s super simple and delicious! Here’s how to make it:
I bought already-smoked salmon from my local Aldi’s. Cook the salmon for approximately 12-15 minutes at 400°F. Let the salmon cool before flaking it with a fork and mixing it with mayonnaise (I was feeling fancy, so I used Japanese mayo), chopped green onions, salt, and pepper to taste, with a squeeze of lemon juice. Next, spread the mixture on 2 pieces of white bread, cut the crust off, and then cut the sandwiches into triangles. I eyeballed this entire recipe, so while I don’t have exact measurements. I did have enough for about 3 sandwiches, which made 6 finger sandwiches once cut.
Now, let’s set the vibe with music and decor.
I find it hard to cook, clean, or do any mundane task without music. So what better way to get into the vibes of 1820s London than the Vitamin String Quartet Bridgerton covers? If you have Apple Music, you can find the album here.
Since this is only a tea for one, I didn’t need a lot for the table setting, but I still wanted to ensure I had enough decor so that my coffee table wasn’t too bare. I found a tulle table runner along with an embroidered placemat. For the food tower, I opted for a simple 3-tier serving tray made of a strong plastic. I actually thought it was glass due to its great quality!
My favorite is the teacup I found on Amazon. Instead of a traditional teacup, I found a gorgeous glass mug with a floral handle. You can find the links to the item below.
Finally, we can put it all together!
Now that we’ve set the vibes, prepared the food and tea, and set the table, it’s time to put the phones on do not disturb and enjoy our Bridgerton-inspired Afternoon Tea while diving into season 4 of Bridgerton. Enjoy!
